We’re excited to share the latest progress on Atlas: Explore the World, our upcoming globetrotting board game about curiosity, connection, and discovering the world one journey at a time.

Over the past months, our team has been hard at work finalizing all three versions of Atlas:

• The Atlas Base Game
• The Backpacker Edition
• The 5–6 Player Expansion

Each product has gone through extensive development to ensure a polished, immersive, and beautifully crafted experience for players of all levels.

Focus on Backpacker Edition & New Expansion Content

One of our biggest current tasks has been refining the Backpacker Edition, a compact and streamlined version of the Atlas experience designed for players who enjoy faster, travel-friendly gameplay.

We’ve also been developing:

• Brand-new Personal Goals
• New Character Cards
  for the 5–6 Player Expansion, adding replayability, strategic depth, and exciting new ways to explore the world in larger groups.

Sustainable, Custom-Made Inserts for the Base Game

A highlight of the latest development phase is our work on custom-designed inserts for the Atlas base game.
These inserts are:

• Made entirely from paper
• Carefully engineered to hold every component securely
• Designed to reduce or eliminate the need for plastic
• Optimized for both storage and table presence
• Sustainability is a core value at Ion Game Design, and we’re proud to continue moving toward eco-friendly production solutions.

Production Begins Next Year

We are now in the final stages of polishing components, testing inserts, and completing art and layout across all Atlas products.
Full production is scheduled to begin early next year, and we will continue sharing updates as we move into manufacturing, sampling, and ultimately shipping.
